Ketchikan Merchants' Manager and Head Coach Fred Bass reported
the Ketchikan Merchants played the Bellevue Blue Sox on Tuesday.
Bass said the Blue Sox are a Mickey Mantle 16-year old team.
On the mound for Ketchikan
was Charles Altman... or Chuck as he's known in the dugout. Altman
pitched another good game giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, struck
out no one, allowed only 1 walk and the Bluesox left 6 men on
base.
The Ketchikan Merchants had
5 runs on 9 hits. Blue Sox pitchers struck out 5, allowed 5 walks,
and the Merchants left 8 runners on base. Coach Bass said it
was a well played game with no errors committed and some fine
defensive plays.
Final score: Ketchikan Merchants
5 - Blue Sox 3
The Ketchikan Merchants next
game is at Smokey Point in Arlington, Washington.
