Ketchikan, Alaska: Local powerlifters competed Saturday, March 1, 2003, in a Ketchikan High School meet sanctioned by USA Powerlifting.

Richard Stillman competing in the Master's over 50 class in the 181 pound weight category set two new state records. Richard's lifts of the day totaled 1,140 pounds.

Taylor Gregg established four new Ketchikan High School records in the 18 - 19 year old 123 pound teen girl category. Taylor's total lifts for the day was 450 pounds.

Floyd Frank competed in the men's over 40 in the 198 pound class and posted 'personal best' in three categories.

Jim Silverthorne of Thorne Bay competed in the men's open 319 pound weight class. Jim posted the meet's top deadlift at 500 pounds.

Pat Stack competed in the competition for the first time. Pat total accumulated lifts was over 1000 pounds.

Kevin Johnson also competed in the competition for the first time. Johnson finished with accumulated lifts of 930 pounds.

The next competition held locally will be in May. If you have not attended a competition in the past, I recommend making it out to see these local competitors who give it their all in breaking local and state records!
