Grumman Goose - Ketchikan - August 01, 1947
"Sea plane
of Ellis Airways and their hangars on the Ketchikan waterfront."
Grumman Aircraft Corp. of Bethpage, N.Y.,
manufactured 345 Gooses between 1937 and 1945.
Prior to the Ketchikan International Airport's opening on Gravina
Island in the early 70's, the airport was located on Annette
Island and served by Pan American in the early days. Flying in
or out of Ketchikan required taking Eliis Air Lines' Grumman
Goose.
