Ketchikan Merchants Manager
& Head Coach Fred Bass reported the last game of the Merchants
first Seattle tour was against the Triple Play Swarm, a select
team out of Tacoma, Washington.
According to information provided
by Bass, the Ketchikan Merchants had a rough start giving up
8 runs in the first inning on 5 hits, 4 walks and an error. The
Swarm followed with a run in the fourth and 2 runs in the fifth
to end the game with an 11 to 1 score.
The Ketchikan Merchants could
only manage 1 run on 2 hits but according to Bass hit several
balls hard.
Bass said the kids were a little
tired after playing 14 games in 11 days, but it was a great experience
for them. Again we would like to thank the parents and business
donations that made this trip happen."
