Locals receive false phone
solicitations
June 27, 2003
Friday - 5:30 pm
Ketchikan General Hospital (KGH) announced today that it has
become aware that some local residents have received bogus phone
calls claiming to be made on behalf of the hospital. According
to information provide by KGH, the caller claims that he or she
has the person's paperwork in front of them for admission into
the KGH Long Term Care Unit, but needs further information in
order to complete the forms.
Quoting from the news release,
such calls have been made from an unknown party out of state.
They are clearly not originated by KGH. Ketchikan General Hospital
asks that anyone who receives such a call report it to the police,
and offer no personal information to the caller.
